Nacho Mama’s Superbowl Slider from Hey Stamford
Nothing says Super Bowl more than nachos and burgers. Why not combine the two to make this totally kickin’ nacho slider? It’s like two worlds colliding to create what might possibly be the PERFECT food!
Makes 8 sliders
- 2 lb. ground sirloin
- 1 C. finely diced onion
- ½ C. diced jalapenos- use the jarred ones
- 1 C. each- shredded sharp cheddar cheese and Monterey jack, combined
- Kosher salt and pepper
- 1 C. guacamole
- ½ C. salsa
- ½ C. sour cream
- 1 C. tortilla chips
- ½ C. jalapenos (optional for garnish)
- ½ C. shredded lettuce
- 8 slider sized potato buns
Combine sirloin, onion, jalapenos and 1 C. of the shredded cheeses. Set remaining cheese aside for topping the burger. Shape ¼ C. of the beef into rounds and heat a grill or grill pan on medium high heat. Cook for 3 minutes per side, after turning add a sprinkling of shredded cheese and continue cooking for another minute until medium rare. Remove from heat and assemble.
Assemble burgers by placing in bun and adding a spoonful of guacamole, salsa, sour cream, a few tortilla chips, a little shredded lettuce and extra jalapenos if you want. Serve with an ice cold beer and extra napkins!
