Stamford, CT — Robin Selden, Managing Partner and Executive Chef, Marcia Selden Catering & Event Planning of Stamford, has won Chef of the Year Award at the CATIE Awards (Catering Arts Through Innovated Excellence Awards) from the International Caterers Association in Las Vegas.

The CATIE’s are known as the ‘Oscars’ of the catering industry and in order to be considered, Selden submitted a portfolio of her work, including original recipes, photography, event descriptions, challenges, business demographics and more.

“I’m so lucky to wake up every day and go to a job that I absolutely love. I’m incredibly proud of our amazing company and our dedicated team,” Robin Selden said in a statement. “Eighteen years ago I took a chance on this business and started working with my Mom and yesterday I accepted the Chef of the Year Award. I’m honored and humbled.”

The firm said the Chef of the Year Award is the latest achievement in a successful year for catering company that also operates an office and venue in New York City. It also becomes the first catering company inducted into the Connecticut Restaurant Association’s Hall of Fame. In addition they were named to TheKnot.com Weddings Hall of Fame as well as Best Caterer in the Best of the Gold Coast contest by Moffly Media.
