Tuna Tartare looks complicated but it’s simple to prepare and it’s a luxurious treat a romantic Valentine’s dinner.  The smooth texture is offset but the crispy, yummy heart shaped wontons. Our pretty presentation adds that extra something special and we guarantee you’ll get a ton of points from your Valentine.

‘Heart’ of Soy Ginger Tuna Tartare with Wasabi Crème, Pickled Ginger and Sesame:

Ingredients:
For the Heart Shaped Crispy Wontons
8 Wonton Wrappers, cut with heart shaped cookie cutter

Canola Oil, for frying
3 T Chives, finely chopped
2 T Sesame Oil
1 T Orange Zest
1 t Fresh Chopped Ginger
¼ C Low Sodium Soy Sauce
2 T Rice Wine Vinegar
1 t Sriracha
½ t Salt
¼ t Pepper
1 lb. Sushi Grade Quality Tuna, chopped

Directions:
Using a small heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out the center of each wonton wrapper. Heat 1 inch of canola oil to 350 degrees in a large skillet and fry the wontons for 1-2 minutes until just a light golden brown. Set on a paper towel to drain the grease off. Wontons can be made up to 5 days in advance if stored in an air-tight container.

Combine all other ingredients through the tuna in a bowl & chill. When ready to serve, mix with diced raw tuna and add a dollop to each heart shaped wonton. Enjoy!
