Stamford Museum & Nature Center
The museum property was the former Henri Willis Bendel estate. This picturesque 118-acre estate with its art gallery and museum space, was built for Bendel, a New York designer and department store owner. Designed in the late 1920s in a Tudor style it features lead-framed glass windows, half-timbered walls, gargoyles, a slate roof and multiple chimneys. In addition to the mansion, the property includes Bendel Lake, a working farm, and a nature center, woodland trails, observatory, interactive art gallery and planetarium.
This is truly a unique and memorable venue.
